Marbella
Marbella is a beautiful town encompassing the old and the
new. There are plenty of designer shops and boutiques, yet if you wander off
into the back streets you will find the tiny alleyways that make up the old
town. Head for the “Plaza de los Naranjos” the Orange Square, aptly named as
it is a beautiful cobbled street square lined with Orange trees. You can get
the freshest of Orange Juice here and enjoy delicious food from the many
cafes and coffee shops that surround the square. There are interesting
buildings to explore like the Town Hall and Santa Maria church that will
keep you busy for hours.

Puerto Banus
This is one of the most famous ports to visit on the Costa
del Sol. Whitewashed condominiums are grouped around a large Marina filled
with the most luxurious yachts imaginable, while Rolls- Royces and Ferraris
cruise slowly past outdoor restaurants and cafes. There is a large Cinema
complex that shows films in English along with lovely beaches to soak up the
sun.

Ronda
This is a picturesque and historic mountain city. It is one
if the oldest and dramatically located perching on the edge or a gorge 2461
ft above sea level. It takes about an hour to reach from the coast but the
beautiful mountain drive is well worth it. There is one of the oldest
bullrings here along with a maze of cobbled streets with a large variety of
shops, the best place to shop for cheap shoes!!

Try the “Parador” restaurant located on the left as you enter the town over
the bridge.

Mijas
Mijas is a beautiful Andalucian village 5 miles inland from
Fuengirola. There are tiny streets crammed with craft and souvenir shops.
Mijas has an unusual square bullring still used for bull fighting to this
day and a colourful museum. Enjoy the views across the mountains to the
coast of Fuengirola.

Estepona
This is a pleasant seafront town 16 miles west of Marbella, there is long
sandy beach with a pretty square of cafes and restaurants. Fishing is a
major business in Estepona with fish markets and restaurants offering a
large variety of freshly caught fish every day.

Benalmadena – a new port has been built here with a large variety of shops
and restaurants.
Sierra Nevada – Spain’s highest mountain range, great for skiing between
December and March.
Seville – beautiful city with a cathedral, parks, shops and festivals in
April that attract visitors from around the world.
Granada – a 2 hour drive from Malaga, set up on the Sierra Nevada mountains,
well worth a trip.
Nerja Caves , El Chorro Lakes, Jerez, Gibraltar, Sotogrande, Cabopino Port,
Ojen.

Selwo Safari Adventure Park
Approximately a 30 minute drive away near Estepona, this African based
Safari park is a great retreat from the beaches. It has 2,000 animals in
semi wild conditions and is not set out like a zoo, an all terrain vehicle
lets you experience how wild animals live in their natural habitats.

Aqua Park
Situated in Fuengirola on the Mijas Road is a great water park which
children of all ages will love. It is open daily from May – September and
under fours get in free.

Great Beaches to visit….
|
There are great sandy beaches all along the coast line, some of the best can
be found at : Marbella, Puerto Banus, Estepona, San Pedro, Los Monteros and
Cabopino.

Saturday – Nueva Andalucia Bullring – this is the best market and is
situated opposite Puerto Banus.

There is a large indoor shopping centre “ La Canada” which is about a 10
minute drive towards Malaga, housing a large range of shops and designer
stores over two floors with a variety of restaurants.
